This refreshing strawberry wellness drink is made with antioxidant-rich strawberries, ginger, turmeric, and chia seeds. While these ingredients can be part of a healthy diet, they are not a treatment or cure for illness.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- ½ tsp ground turmeric (or a small piece of fresh turmeric)
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey (optional)
- Pinch of black pepper (helps with turmeric absorption)
- 4–6 ice cubes (optional)
Instructions
- Add the almond milk to a blender.
- Add the strawberries, banana, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, lemon juice, chia seeds, black pepper, and honey (if using).
- Blend for 45–60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- If using ice, blend again until chilled.
- Let the drink stand for 3–5 minutes so the chia seeds can slightly thicken it, then serve immediately.
Optional Boosts
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- A few fresh mint leaves
- ½ cup Greek yogurt for extra protein
- A splash of coconut water for a lighter drink
Tips
- Frozen strawberries make the drink thicker and colder without needing much ice.
- Adjust the honey depending on how sweet your strawberries are.
- Drink immediately for the freshest flavor and best texture.
- Refrigerate leftovers for up to 24 hours and shake well before drinking.
