This Shrimp, Sausage & Broccoli Skillet is a quick, flavorful one-pan meal featuring juicy shrimp, smoky sausage, tender broccoli, and a rich garlic butter seasoning. It’s perfect for busy weeknights and ready in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 12 oz (340 g) smoked sausage (such as andouille or kielbasa), sliced
- 4 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Optional Garnishes
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the sliced sausage and cook for 4–5 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining olive oil and the broccoli. Cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp. If needed, add 2 tablespoons of water and cover for 2 minutes to help steam the broccoli.
- Stir in the butter and garlic, cooking for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp, smoked paprika, Cajun seasoning, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
- Return the sausage to the skillet and toss everything together.
- Stir in the lemon juice and cook for 1 minute.
- Garnish with parsley, Parmesan, or red pepper flakes if desired, and serve immediately.
Tips
- Pat the shrimp dry before cooking for better browning.
- Avoid overcooking the shrimp—they cook very quickly.
- Use turkey or chicken sausage for a lighter option.
- Add bell peppers, mushrooms, or zucchini for extra vegetables.
