Air Fryer Baked Potatoes
Ingredients
- 4 medium baking potatoes (Russet works best)
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper (optional)
- Butter and your favorite toppings for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3–5 minutes.
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly, then pat them completely dry.
- Pierce each potato 5–6 times with a fork.
- Rub the potatoes with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Air fry for:
- Small potatoes: 30–35 minutes
- Medium potatoes: 35–45 minutes
- Large potatoes: 45–55 minutes
- Turn the potatoes halfway through cooking.
- They’re done when a knife slides easily into the center or the internal temperature reaches 98–100°C (210°F).
Serving Ideas
Slice open the potatoes and add:
- Butter and sour cream
- Cheddar cheese and bacon bits
- Chives or spring onions
- Chili
- Baked beans
- Tuna mayonnaise
- Garlic butter and herbs
Tips
- Don’t wrap the potatoes in foil—they’ll have crispier skins without it.
- Cook potatoes of similar size together so they finish at the same time.
- For extra-crispy skin, lightly brush with a little more oil during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Leftover baked potatoes can be reheated in the air fryer at 180°C (350°F) for 5–8 minutes.
