Jalapeño Popper Pastry Twists are flaky, cheesy, and slightly spicy—perfect as an appetizer or party snack. This recipe makes 10–12 twists.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2–3 jalapeños, finely diced (remove seeds for less heat)
- 2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, bacon (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder until well mixed.
- Roll the puff pastry into a rectangle if needed. Spread the filling evenly over one half of the pastry.
- Fold the other half of the pastry over the filling and gently press the edges to seal.
- Cut the pastry into 10–12 strips of equal width.
- Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each twist.
- Brush each twist with the beaten egg and sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds, if desired.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until puffed and deep golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
