- 4 hot dog buns
- 1 tbsp butter (optional, for toasting buns)
Optional Toppings
- Ketchup
- Yellow or Dijon mustard
- Relish
- Diced onions
- Sauerkraut
- Pickle slices
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Chili
- Jalapeño slices
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- If desired, make a few shallow diagonal slits on each hot dog to help them brown evenly.
- Place the hot dogs in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each one.
- Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 5–6 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking.
- During the last 1–2 minutes, place the hot dog buns in the air fryer. For extra flavor, lightly butter the inside of the buns before toasting.
- Place each hot dog into a toasted bun and add your favorite toppings.
Tips
- Score the hot dogs lightly for crispy edges and a fun presentation.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed.
- Different brands and sizes may require an extra minute of cooking.
- Add a slice of cheese during the last 30 seconds for a melty finish.
