Homestyle Creamy Garlic Beef and Golden Potatoes

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
Main Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
- 1½ lb (680 g) Yukon Gold potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Creamy Garlic Sauce
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (480 ml) beef broth
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- ½ cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook the potatoes
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the potatoes and cook for 12–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and nearly tender.
- Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- Brown the beef
- In the same skillet, melt the butter.
- Add the ground beef and onion.
- Cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking the beef into crumbles until browned.
- Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the garlic, Italian seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 30 seconds.
- Make the sauce
- Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, and Dijon mustard.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes, until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Combine
- Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet.
- Stir gently to coat them in the creamy garlic sauce.
- Simmer for 5 minutes, until the potatoes are fork-tender and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.
