Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- Juice of ½ lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the shrimp for 1–2 minutes per side, just until pink. Transfer to a plate.
- Reduce the heat to medium. Add the remaining butter and sauté the garlic for 30–60 seconds, until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir in the Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, if using. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1–2 minutes, coating them in the sauce.
- Stir in the parsley and lemon juice, if desired.
- Serve immediately.

- Roasted vegetables
- Crusty bread for dipping into the sauce
Tip: Use freshly grated Parmesan rather than pre-shredded cheese for the smoothest, creamiest sauce.
