- 1½ lbs (680 g) lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 bell peppers (red, yellow, and green), sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14.5 oz / 410 g) can diced tomatoes, drained
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) if your skillet is oven-safe.
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion and bell peppers and cook for 5–6 minutes, until they begin to soften.
- Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the beef mixture.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
