Browned Chicken Skillet
This easy Browned Chicken Skillet features juicy, golden-brown chicken with garlic, butter, and herbs. It’s a versatile main dish that’s ready in about 30 minutes.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Season the chicken
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Brown the chicken
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and cook for 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Add the garlic butter
- Reduce the heat to medium.
- Add the butter and minced garlic.
- Cook for 30–60 seconds, stirring until fragrant.
- Spoon the garlic butter over the chicken as it cooks.
- Check for doneness
- Cook until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- If the pieces are thick, cover the skillet for the last 2–3 minutes to finish cooking.
- Finish
- Drizzle with lemon juice.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
- Serve
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, roasted vegetables, a fresh salad, or buttered noodles.
