Beef Tortilla Wraps
These flavorful beef tortilla wraps are quick to make, perfect for lunch or dinner, and ready in about 25 minutes.
Ingredients (Serves 4)
For the Beef Filling
- 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- ¼ cup beef broth or water
For the Wraps
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 avocado, sliced (optional)
- ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Salsa or pico de gallo
- Fresh cilantro (optional)
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the onion for 3–4 minutes until softened, then stir in the garlic.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and broth. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the liquid is mostly absorbed.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft.
- Spread a spoonful of sour cream on each tortilla, then layer with lettuce, seasoned beef, cheese, tomatoes, avocado, salsa, and cilantro.
- Fold in the sides and roll tightly into a wrap.
- For a crispy finish, toast the wraps in a hot skillet for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and the cheese melts.
