Ingredients
For the Burgers
- 1½ lbs (680 g) ground beef (80/20 or 85/15)
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For Serving
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
- 4 slices cheddar, American, or Swiss cheese (optional)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onion slices
- Dill pickle slices
Optional Condiments
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayonnaise
- BBQ sauce
- Burger sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- In a bowl, gently combine the ground beef with the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Do not overmix.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾ inch (2 cm) thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
- Place the patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
-
Air fry at 370°F (188°C) for:
- 8–10 minutes for medium
- 10–12 minutes for medium-well
Flip the burgers halfway through cooking.
- If adding cheese, place a slice on each burger during the last 1 minute of cooking.
- Ensure the burgers reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Let the burgers rest for 3–5 minutes before serving on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
Tips
- Choose 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest burgers.
- Avoid pressing down on the patties while they cook, as this releases flavorful juices.
- Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
- Toast the burger buns for extra flavor and texture.
