Ingredients
- 1½ lb (680 g) pork belly, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar (optional, for caramelization)
Optional Garnishes
- Sliced green onions
- Sesame seeds
- Fresh parsley
Dipping Sauces
- BBQ sauce
- Honey mustard
- Garlic aioli
- Sweet chili sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Pat the pork belly cubes dry with paper towels.
- In a large bowl, toss the pork belly with the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, chili flakes, and brown sugar (if using).
- Arrange the pork belly in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between the pieces.
- Air fry for 18–22 minutes, shaking the basket every 5–6 minutes for even browning.
- For extra-crispy bites, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels for 1 minute, then garnish with green onions or sesame seeds and serve hot.
Tips
- Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if necessary.
- Patting the pork belly dry helps achieve a crispier exterior.
- If your air fryer smokes due to rendered fat, add a small amount of water to the bottom of the drawer (if your model allows) to reduce smoke.
- Adjust the cooking time depending on the size of the pork belly cubes.
