1-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream (Nice Cream)
This naturally sweet, creamy dessert is made with just one ingredient—ripe bananas! It’s dairy-free, vegan, and a healthier alternative to traditional ice cream.
Ingredient
- 3–4 ripe bananas
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and slice them into ½-inch rounds.
- Freeze the banana slices for at least 2–3 hours, or until completely frozen.
- Place the frozen banana slices in a food processor or high-powered blender.
- Blend, scraping down the sides as needed. The bananas will first become crumbly, then smooth and creamy.
- Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture, or freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer, scoopable consistency.
Time
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Freeze Time: 2–3 hours
- Blend Time: 2–3 minutes
- Total Time: About 3 hours
Servings: 2–4
Tips
- Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the sweetest flavor.
- If your blender struggles, let the bananas sit at room temperature for 2–3 minutes before blending.
- Freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Let them soften for 5–10 minutes before scooping.
Optional Mix-Ins (if you want more than one ingredient)
