Ingredients
- 2 lb (900 g) chicken pieces (drumsticks, thighs, or bone-in breasts)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika or cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for 3–5 minutes.
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
- Rub the chicken with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using).
- Coat the chicken evenly with the seasoning mixture.
- Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between the pieces.
- Air fry:
- Drumsticks: 20–25 minutes
- Bone-in thighs: 22–28 minutes
- Bone-in breasts: 25–30 minutes
- Turn the chicken halfway through cooking.
- For extra-crispy skin, air fry for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
Optional Variations
- Garlic Parmesan: Toss the cooked chicken with melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan, and chopped parsley.
- Honey Garlic: Brush with a mixture of honey, garlic, and soy sauce during the last 2 minutes.
- Spicy: Add ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper to the seasoning or drizzle with hot sauce before serving.
