Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts (sliced) or boneless thighs
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 2 cups mushrooms (sliced)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
Sauce:
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar (or lemon juice)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry)
Optional: chili flakes, green onions, sesame seeds
Instructions
1. Cook the chicken
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat
- Season chicken with salt & pepper
- Cook until golden and fully done
- Remove and set aside
2. Sauté mushrooms
- In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed
- Cook mushrooms until browned and tender
3. Add garlic
- Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant
4. Make the sauce
- Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar
- Let simmer for 2–3 minutes
5. Thicken
- Stir in cornstarch slurry
- Cook until sauce becomes thick and glossy
6. Combine
- Return chicken to the pan
- Toss everything together until well coated
