Air Fryer Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich
This Air Fryer Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich is crispy, buttery, and filled with gooey melted cheese and savory ham. It’s a quick and satisfying meal that’s ready in under 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- 4 slices sandwich bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 4 slices deli ham
- 4 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp softened butter (or mayonnaise for extra crispness)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for 3 minutes.
- Spread the softened butter (or mayonnaise) on one side of each slice of bread.
- If using, spread Dijon mustard on the unbuttered side of two bread slices.
- Place one slice of cheese on each bread slice, then layer with the ham and the remaining cheese.
- Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing outward.
- Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket in a single layer. If needed, secure them with toothpicks to prevent the bread from lifting.
- Air fry at 370°F (188°C) for 4–5 minutes.
- Carefully flip the sandwiches and cook for another 3–4 minutes, until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from the air fryer, let cool for 1–2 minutes, then slice and serve.
Tips
- Use two slices of cheese for an extra gooey sandwich.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even browning.
- Add sliced tomatoes or caramelized onions for extra flavor.
- Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model.
