Ingredients
- 1 small pizza dough or 1 pre-baked pizza crust (6–8 inches)
- 2 tsp olive oil
- ¼ cup pizza sauce
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- 8–10 fresh basil leaves
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Optional Toppings
- Sliced tomatoes
- Fresh mozzarella slices
- Black olives
- Mushrooms
- Pepperoni
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
- If using fresh pizza dough, roll it into a 6–8-inch circle to fit your air fryer basket.
- Lightly brush the dough or crust with olive oil.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the crust, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the sauce.
- Season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes, if using.
- Air fry for 7–10 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove the pizza carefully and immediately top with the fresh basil leaves.
- Slice and serve hot.
Tips
- Add the fresh basil after cooking to preserve its bright color and flavor.
- If your air fryer has a powerful fan, gently press toppings into the cheese so they don’t shift during cooking.
- For an extra-crispy crust, pre-cook fresh dough for 2–3 minutes before adding the toppings.
- Use fresh mozzarella for a classic Margherita-style pizza.
