Ingredients
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tbsp whole milk or heavy cream
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for greasing)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives or parsley (optional)
Optional Add-Ins
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar, mozzarella, or Parmesan
- Crumbled cooked bacon
- Diced ham
- Sautéed mushrooms
- Chopped spinach
- Diced tomatoes
Air Fryer Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly grease a small oven-safe dish or ramekin with butter.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, melted butter, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, stirring gently every 3 minutes to create soft, fluffy curds.
- Remove when the eggs are just set—they’ll continue to cook from residual heat.
- Garnish with fresh chives or parsley and serve immediately.
Stovetop Method
- Whisk together the eggs, milk or cream, salt, and pepper.
- Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a nonstick skillet over low heat.
- Pour in the eggs and let them sit for about 20–30 seconds.
- Using a silicone spatula, gently stir and fold the eggs from the edges toward the center.
- Continue cooking over low heat until soft, creamy curds form, about 4–6 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat while the eggs are still slightly glossy—they’ll finish cooking from the remaining heat.
- Stir in cheese, if using, and garnish with fresh herbs.
Serving Suggestions
- Buttered toast
- Crispy bacon or breakfast sausage
- Avocado slices
- Air Fryer Baby Potatoes
- Fresh fruit
- Smoked salmon
Tips for the Creamiest Eggs
- Cook over low heat to prevent the eggs from becoming dry or rubbery.
- Stir gently rather than constantly for larger, softer curds.
- Remove the eggs from the heat while they’re still slightly underdone.
- For extra richness, replace the milk with heavy cream or stir in a spoonful of cream cheese at the end.
- Season with salt just before or during cooking to help the eggs stay tender.
