Ingredients
- 4 slices thick-cut bacon
- 4 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- 2 slices cheddar, Swiss, or American cheese (optional)
- 2 lettuce leaves (optional)
- 2 tomato slices (optional)
- Mayonnaise, ketchup, or your favorite sauce
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the bacon:
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the bacon in a single layer in the basket (cook in batches if needed).
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy to your liking.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Toast the bread:
- Lightly butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place the bread in the air fryer basket and toast at 350°F (175°C) for 2–3 minutes, until golden.
- Assemble the sandwiches:
- Spread mayonnaise or your favorite sauce on the toasted bread.
- Add the bacon, cheese (if using), lettuce, and tomato.
- Top with the remaining bread slices.
- Optional melted cheese finish:
- Return the assembled sandwich to the air fryer.
- Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 1–2 minutes, just until the cheese melts and the sandwich is warmed through.
