Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Honey Garlic Glaze
- ⅓ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
- Sliced green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and season both sides with the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook the chicken for 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Transfer the chicken to a plate.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the honey, soy sauce, garlic, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and butter. Stir until well combined.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Stir it into the sauce and simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the glaze thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the glaze over each piece. Simmer for 1–2 minutes, turning once to coat evenly.
- Garnish with parsley, sesame seeds, and green onions before serving.

Tips
- Chicken thighs stay extra juicy, while chicken breasts are a leaner option.
- For a spicy version, add ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha to the glaze.
- Don’t let the honey glaze boil too vigorously, as it can burn quickly.
- Delicious served with steamed rice, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, noodles, or a crisp green salad.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat gently over low heat or in the microwave.
