Juicy Air Fryer Steak
This Juicy Air Fryer Steak is tender, flavorful, and perfectly seared with a delicious crust. It’s an easy, restaurant-quality meal that’s ready in under 20 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless steaks (ribeye, New York strip, or sirloin), about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme (optional)
Garlic Butter (Optional)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Remove the steaks from the refrigerator 20–30 minutes before cooking to bring them closer to room temperature.
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towels.
- Rub both sides with olive oil, then season evenly with the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and rosemary or thyme.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.

Cook, flipping halfway through:
- Rare (125°F / 52°C): 7–8 minutes
- Medium-Rare (130–135°F / 54–57°C): 8–10 minutes
- Medium (140–145°F / 60–63°C): 10–12 minutes
- Medium-Well (150°F / 66°C): 12–13 minutes
- Well Done (160°F / 71°C): 13–15 minutes
Cooking times may vary depending on the thickness of the steak and your air fryer model.
- If using the garlic butter, mix the melted butter, garlic, and parsley together and brush it over the hot steaks immediately after cooking.
- Let the steaks rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
