Air Fryer Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry
These Air Fryer Ham and Cheese Puff Pastries are flaky, buttery, and filled with savory ham and gooey melted cheese. They make a delicious breakfast, lunch, snack, or easy appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 6 slices deli ham
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly flour a work surface and unfold the thawed puff pastry.
- Cut the pastry into 4 equal squares.
- If using, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard in the center of each square.
- Top each square with a slice or two of ham and a generous amount of shredded cheese.
- Fold each pastry over to form a rectangle or triangle. Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to make an egg wash.
- Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds, if desired.
- Place the pastries in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving, as the filling will be very hot.
