Servings: 4–6
Ingredients
- 2 pounds (900 g) cube steak
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cups (480 ml) beef broth
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz/300 g) cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons cold water
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly spray the crock pot with nonstick cooking spray.
- Arrange half of the sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Place the cube steaks over the onions, then top with the remaining onions.
- In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the cube steaks.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until the meat is fork-tender.
