Air Fryer French Fries
Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and made with just a little oil.
Prep Time: 15 minutes (plus 30 minutes soaking, optional)
Cook Time: 18–22 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the potatoes if desired. Cut them into ¼-inch (6 mm) fries.
- Optional but recommended: Soak the fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch for crispier fries.
- Drain and pat the fries completely dry with paper towels.
- Toss the fries with the olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, pepper, and onion powder until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Arrange the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed.
- Air fry for 18–22 minutes, shaking the basket every 5–6 minutes.
- For extra-crispy fries, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 2–3 minutes.
- Sprinkle with parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Tips for the Crispiest Fries
- Russet potatoes give the crispiest texture.
