- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3 minutes.
- Prepare the Pastry
- Roll the puff pastry slightly and cut it into 4 equal squares.
- Fill
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each square, if using.
- Place 2 slices of ham and 1 slice of cheese on one half of each square, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Seal
- Fold the pastry over to form a rectangle or triangle.
- Press the edges together with a fork to seal.
- Cut a small slit in the top of each pastry to allow steam to escape.
- Egg Wash
- Beat the egg with the water.
- Brush the tops with the egg wash.
- Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds, if desired.
- Air Fry
- Place the pastries in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between them.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Serve
- Let the pastries cool for 2–3 minutes before serving, as the filling will be very hot.
Optional Add-Ins
- Sliced tomatoes
- Caramelized onions
- Sautéed mushrooms
- Spinach
- Jalapeños
- Fresh herbs
Tips
- Do not overfill the pastries, or the cheese may leak out during cooking.
- Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.
- If using thick-cut cheese, add an extra 1–2 minutes of cooking time.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer at 325°F (160°C) for 3–4 minutes.
