Cabbage Fritters
Ingredients (Makes 8–10 fritters)
-
2 cups finely shredded cabbage (about ½ small head)
-
1 small carrot, grated (optional for color & sweetness)
-
2 eggs
-
½ cup all-purpose flour (or more if needed)
-
2–3 garlic cloves, minced
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
-
2–3 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (parsley, dill, or cilantro)
-
Oil for frying
🔹 Instructions
1️⃣ Prep the Mixture
-
In a large bowl, combine shredded cabbage, grated carrot, garlic, eggs, flour, salt, pepper, and herbs.
-
Mix until it holds together — if too wet, add a little more flour.
2️⃣ Shape the Fritters
-
Scoop 2–3 tbsp of the mixture and flatten into small patties.
3️⃣ Fry
-
Heat a skillet with 2–3 tbsp oil over medium heat.
-
Fry fritters 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
-
Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
4️⃣ Serve
-
Serve hot with sour cream, yogurt dip, or your favorite sauce.
Tips
-
Squeeze out excess moisture from cabbage to avoid soggy fritters.
-
For extra crunch, add 2–3 tbsp breadcrumbs to the mixture.
-
You can also bake them at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway for a lighter version.
