Buttery Baked Cabbage is simple, rich, and surprisingly delicious—roasting brings out a sweet, nutty flavor while the butter keeps it tender and savory.
Ingredients
- 1 large green cabbage
- 4–5 tbsp butter (melted)
- 2–3 cloves garlic (minced, optional)
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- ½ tsp paprika (optional, for color & mild warmth)
- 1–2 tbsp olive oil (optional)
Instructions
1. Prep the cabbage
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
- Remove outer leaves, cut cabbage into thick wedges (keep core intact so they hold together)
2. Season
- Place wedges on a baking tray
- Brush generously with melted butter
- Sprinkle salt, pepper, garlic, and paprika
3. Bake
- Roast for 30–40 minutes, flipping once halfway
- Edges should be crispy and slightly charred, inside tender
Pro Tips
- Don’t skimp on butter—it’s the star flavor
- For extra crispiness, bake on high heat and don’t overcrowd the tray
- Add a squeeze of lemon after baking to brighten flavors
- Finish with grated Parmesan for a cheesy crust

- Garlic Parmesan: Add cheese in last 10 minutes
